When it comes to performing and pricing a leak detection on an in-ground spa or a pool spa combo, people often ask about the price difference. Why does it cost more to perform a leak detection when i have a spa attached to the pool? it’s the same water, isn’t it?
Ahh, words customers share when they don’t understand what makes their system operate. Spa plumbing is often the equivalent of a plate of spaghetti.
The reality is, there is a lot more piping in a spa, and spas include features that add to the time spent and the methods required to accurately identify leaks. Where a pool might have 4 or 6 return fittings that require checking for leaks, have you counted how many exist in a spa? I’ve seen them with literally dozens upon dozens, and that’s just in the shell. The pipes that bring the water and the air to the pool, and the equipment that runs the spa – add that to the pool and it’s more than just time spent, it takes investigative knowledge and someone who understands how pools and spas operate.
That’s what the customer is paying for.
