Adams Pool Service: LeakTronics Business Success Story

Galen Adams, owner of Adams Pool Service offers leak detection and repair services in the North of Texas. He has over 15 years of experience in the industry. After his military service, he began his career in the service industry back in 1992. He sold a business he had in 2022 and decided to start a new one. His close friend, a swimming pool professional, suggested establishing a leak detection business. The reason is there weren’t many contractors providing such services in North-East Texas. Most homeowners in that area reach out to businesses in Dallas or the metro area for services. Galen began his research online and came across LeakTronics. Here is the story of Adams Pool Service: LeakTronics Business Success Story!

Starting A Business With LeakTronics

When he reached out, he was connected to our Sales team which directly set up a free consultation with Galen to address his concerns and answer all the questions he had about the equipment, industry best practices, and starting his business. Galen states he was impressed by how quick the LeakTronics team’s response was. He said: “This showed me you guys are available anytime. We scheduled a 10:00 am call for the next day where we discussed the different kits LeakTronics offers and which one works best for me.”

Galen also said that his company covers Northern Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas which is a large area he will have the opportunity to serve. The services he offers span visual inspection, pressure testing, dye testing, electronic leak detection, hydrostatic testing, and water loss analysis. Over the years, Galen honed his skills and knowledge through hands-on experience, training, and staying up-to-date with the latest industry developments.

Pipepoxy For Trenchless Pipe Repair

When asked about the repair services, Galen says he purchased our Pipepoxy system for trenchless pipe repair and is currently partnering with repair professionals on repair jobs. This collaboration helps Galen learn more about the repair industry but will also offer his partners in the industry access to the Pipepoxy product.

Leak Detection Process and Go-To Components

Galen starts his leak detections with a walkthrough of the pool and its surrounding area. He looks for any signs of a leak or any areas of interest. Then, he walks around the pool using the Pool Scope included in our Pro Complete Leak Detection Kit. If he suspects that he is hearing the sound of a leak at any of the lines in the pool, he conducts a static test using our cones. If the cones pull the dye it means there is most likely a leak, and if it doesn’t then there isn’t one. It’s as simple as that.

“I have all of the microphones: the Pool Scope, Pipe Mic, Side Mic, Push Mic. I use each one of them depending on the situation I walk up to.” Galen says he had to contact our Technical Support line one time because he was in a challenging situation. He sent us photos of the job via email and we gave him a call to troubleshoot with him. “The support at your guys’ company is a huge draw to me. The fact that you answer my call while I’m out on the job site even sometimes during weekends is amazing. Earlier this morning I was hearing some static vibrations while using one of my microphones. After corresponding via email a couple of times, I receive a call from Darren Merlob, the CEO and Founder of LeakTronics and he discussed with me various helpful tips to bypass the noise I was hearing.”

“This shows me how much you care about your customers.”

Challenging Jobs Become Business Success Stories

Once, Galen was faced with a challenging leak. He thought he might be hearing 4 different leaks. After speaking with Technical Support, and tweaking the pressure rig positioning, the leaks were narrowed down to one. This job was one that Galen took on for another leak detection company and was able to successfully locate the leak.

Another job Galen told us about was of a spa that was over spilling into the swimming pool. The leak was suspected in the spa, however, the water on both sides of the wall made it difficult to rule out which line was leaking. After pressure testing the lines, Galen observed bubbles at multiple structural cracks. 6 out of 8 fittings were leaking. This was a difficult job because the 6 jets were leaking, they cause a bit of confusion.

When ending our call with Galen, he said “Thank you for sharing the knowledge and for caring.”

This is why the LeakTronics team works hard every single day. Our departments work together to offer the best customer service possible. We got your back!
