In this episode of Turning Leak Detection Into Repair Work, we we’re called to a house in Northridge, CA for a suspected residential home leak.

The homeowner noticed a rise in water use on their bill. We walked the entire property, taking note of previous repair work. While it seemed obvious, we still checked the entire property for leaks.

We heard a leak on the cold water side of the water heater in the garage, listened at all stub ups and valves, sinks, showers, toilets and plumbing lines. We pressure tested the plumbing and in the end, we discovered a break in the pipe under the garage floor where previous repair work was evident. We heard the distinctive boiling sound precisely at the leak and the job was done. We bid the repair and got the job.
